Situations where insurance is not applicable:
When your mobile is lost under ambiguous circumstances.
When your mobile is lost when you are out of the country.
When the phone is damaged or lost through a person other than the person who has insured the mobile phone.
When the mobile phone is repaired not through the official firm but from another firm/ company (external company).
Damage caused due to abnormal weather conditions during the time of repair.
Documents and information that needs to be submitted in order to insure your mobile phone:
Mobile has to be insured within two or three days of purchase.
In order to take insurance, go to company’s website and fill in the basic information.
The company will later ask you to send your personal identification proof(s) and mobile purchase bill. They usually ask you to send such documents by post.
There is also an option available where in, you can send the documents through Whatsapp. The images of the documents can be sent through Whatsapp.
Documents which should be ready to make the claim:
Mobile damage during an accident
Mobile bill
Acknowledgement acknowledging the details of the claim
The picture of the mobile phone screen that incurred the damage along with a photo which includes EMI number
How much amount can be retained:
0 to 180 days: 65% to 70%
More than 180 days: 45% to 50%
